Yin Yang Intarsia Lesson


Thank you to Sue Walker and Fox Chapel Publication for crediting my original yin yang Intarsia pattern in the fall 2010 issue of Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts magazine! She started with my simple pattern and transformed it into a beautiful and wonderful coaster set project. You can find her article on page 22 of SSW&C's issue 40.

First Project

This was my very first cut on the original Craftsman scroll saw I received as a gift in 1996 or 1997. I was given a scrap of single-sided 1/4" oak plywood and transfered the pattern on it from an old Spielman book. I had no idea how to use a scrollsaw and wasn't sure of its total purpose so I stuck with the #9 pin-end blades that came with it. Fortunately I can say I've improved since then, but I'm glad I kept my very first cutting.
